Peptac Liquid belongings to the 'reflux suppressants' group of medicines that form a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid from escaping from the stomach where it works into the food pipe causing pain and discomfort.

Ingredients:

Peppermint and original flavoured liquid containing sodium alginate 250mg, sodium bicarbonate 133.5mg and calcium carbonate 80mg per 5ml

Directions:

• Adults and children over 12 years: 10-20ml after meals and at bedtime. Children 6-12 years: 5-10ml after meals and at bedtime

Safety Warnings:

• Check and ensure you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine before taking. This medicine contains Butyl Parahydroxybenzoate, which can cause an allergic reaction in some.
• If you’re on a sodium-restricted diet, consult with your doctor or a pharmacist before taking as 10ml of this medicine contains about 6mmols of sodium.
• Tell your doctor first if you’re taking any other medicines, especially ACE inhibitors, analgesics, antibiotics, antiepileptics, antifungals, antimalarials antipsychotics, bisphosphonates, lithium and penicillamine.
