Description
Product Details
Lanacane is a medicated anaesthetic cooling cream which is used to relieve itching and skin irritation.
The active ingredient is benzocaine 3%.
Benzocaine works below the skin surface to anaesthetise sensory nerves, to stop itching and irritation fast and eliminate the urge to scratch.
It is formulated to provide fast relief from itching and irritation from conditions such as insect bites and stings, nettle stings, everyday cuts and scrapes, skin chafe, external vaginal and external anal (back passage) itching.
How Lanacane Cream works
It forms a thin protective layer over the affected area and stops the urge to scratch. Its anaesthetic cooling action soothes itching and irritation.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Lanacane can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
On very rare occasions, the use of Lanacane can result in a skin reaction called sensitivity.
Sensitivity can be recognised by reddening of the skin, minor swelling, blistering, or the itch and/or irritation becoming more intense.
- In the unlikely event that you experience these symptoms, stop using Lanacane and consult your doctor for advice.
- If you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not use it if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
Directions
Suitable for adults and children 12 years of age and older.
